About the Alaska Voices Project
The first season of Alaska Voices interviews were recorded in collaboration with StoryCorps, a national nonprofit whose mission is preserve and share humanity’s stories in order to build connections between people and create a more just and compassionate world.
The podcast has been supported by the Alaska Climate Adaptation Science Center. Additional funding was provided by the University of Alaska Fairbanks Chancellor through a generous gift from the Bentley Family Trust to the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
In the summer of 2025 Elizabeth Carter with the Alaska Center for Climate and Policy released a 4-episode miniseries in collaboration with the Alaska Voices team: Alaska Weather Voices. This series uses a different storytelling format to expand on the life and career of ACCAP climate specialist Rick Thoman.
A second season of Alaska Voices in the classic format is currently in production with episodes being actively recorded and edited by the team.
The Alaska Voices project builds bridges of knowledge by sharing conversations among Alaska's community members, friends, policy makers, and co-workers. We also share stories about the environment from community members and scientists.

We welcome your comments and requests. Thanks for your interest in Alaska Voices!
